New Volunteering Opportunities

Douglas Drive is a Day Centre supporting Senior Citizens and Stroke Survivors from Stevenage and the surrounding villages, currently providing 2 general day care sessions for the Elderly and people living with Dementia and one session for Stroke Survivors.

This week we announced the news that from September 2024, Douglas Drive will be adding a third day for General Day Care and Dementia clients, allowing us to reach more people in need of the service we provide.

We are also launching an exciting new Stroke Support Hub!… watch this space for more information!

Volunteers play a huge part in delivering the service we offer, but we always need more!

If you have a few hours to spare and would like to get involved, please do get in touch, we would love to hear from you.

Thank you Daryl ⭐

Having put a shout out for a painter, Daryl of Tilbury Painting & Decorating got in touch with us.

On realising the work we do at Douglas Drive, Daryl very kindly offered to do the work with no labour costs.

Daryl gave up his time on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday to decorate both our front porch fascia and front doors.

It looks absolutely amazing… a fantastic job Daryl, thank you, you’re a star.⭐

This week our groups are heading back to the 1970’s!

To continue with our 50 years celebrations, our groups at Douglas Drive will be having a week dedicated to all things from the decade… themed food, music and activities!

We will also be having a guess who game with clients, staff and volunteers bringing in photos of themselves in the 1970’s to see if we can guess who’s who!

So hold on tight as we head back to the decade of flares, disco and all things groovy!…
