Thank you also to Mayor Jim Brown who officially opened the new Stroke Support Hub. Along with local councilors, Committee members, clients, family and friends, staff and volunteers who all helped make the Launch of our new hub a great success .

The Group of 2024!

The group of 2024!
Today was the last day of our Tuesday Stroke Survivors Group. Lots of fun, happiness, laughter and even a few tears but, a fantastic day.
We had a good old sing-a-long with the wonderful Magenta Slipperz which everyone loved! – Thank you Magenta Hartley Hartley Music![]()
We understand there are a few nerves about the start of the new groups next week but, Magenta sang a great song which meant a lot to us all and will definitely become our new mantra…. “Don’t worry bout a thing, ‘Cause every little thing is gonna be all right” ![]()

Could you be a Committee Member?…
A committee is a group of people who meet to make decisions
or plans for a larger group or organisation that they represent
– COBUILD Advanced English Dictionary –
Our volunteer committee at Douglas Drive are a group of people with a passion for the centre and the work we do and want to see the centre continue to thrive into the future.
- Do you have a background or experience in business or fundraising?
- Maybe you have a skill in form filling, applying for grants, social media or producing newsletters?
- Or maybe you have practical skills or knowledge which you feel could benefit the centre.
Fancy joining the team? If you feel this could be for you, please feel free to contact us for an informal chat to find out more.
We also have our AGM on Wednesday 4th September 2024 at 2:30pm which is open to all, and will be an insight into the centre and how the committee operates.
