The staff of Douglas Drive SCA would like to thank our clients, volunteers,
committee members, funders and friends for another great year.

Knebworth Golf Club once again invited the whole centre back for our annual Christmas celebration.

In addition to the wonderful meal and entertainment we were presented with a cheque for £18,346.00.  This was presented by Peter Gormley Mens Captain 2017-18 and Cheryl Rowney Ladies Captain 2017-18 who very kindly chose Douglas Drive as their charity throughout their year of captaincy.

This amount will make a huge difference to Douglas Drive and will enable us to maintain and build on the services we currently provide.

Douglas Drive would like to thank Peter, Cheryl and everyone at Knebworth Golf Club for their support and generosity in raising this fantastic amount for Douglas Drive.

A big thank you to all who supported and attended our Christmas Craft, Coffee, Cake and Carols event last Saturday.

It was lovely to see so many friends and new faces, and a pleasure to welcome the Mayor and her consort to Douglas Drive.

An amazing £547.70 was raised on the day with money still coming in from sales made this week.

Thank you all again for your amazing support and generosity.

The Crafty Friends of Douglas Drive launched their first Christmas wreath decorating competition last month.

Our Chairperson popped in today to judge the entries , a difficult task as all the entries were amazing.

The wreaths will be on display for the rest of this week and sold at our Christmas Craft, Coffee, Cake and Carols event this Saturday 24th November here at Douglas Drive Day Centre… We really look forward to seeing you.

We would like to introduce you to Douglas.

Douglas has been specially dressed by a member of our Crafty Friends of Douglas Drive and is now ready for his debut on our raffle table at our upcoming 5C’s event.

Douglas is one of many lovely prizes we have for our event raffle.  Tickets can be purchased from Douglas Drive Day Centre from now and will continue to be sold at the event on Saturday 24th November 2018.

A few of our Crafty Crafters Celebrating!

The Crafty Friends of Douglas Drive celebrated their 5th birthday earlier this month.

The Friends of Douglas Drive started in October 2013 with the aim of supporting Douglas Drive whilst continuing with the same ethos of the centre, helping to prevent loneliness and isolation.

The name has since changed to ‘The Crafty Friends of Douglas Drive’ but our aim very much remains the same.

We are always looking for ‘Crafty Crafters’ to join us on a Friday and currently looking particularly for card makers and sewing people however, all crafters are very welcome.

Unable to join us on a Friday but would like to help?… We have a few friends who craft from home and bring items in ready for our sales events.  If this is something you would be interested in please give us a call or pop in for a chat, we’d love to hear from you.

Today’s the day!… The urn is on and the cakes have started arriving!

Pop in and join us for some cake and a cuppa and help us raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Douglas Drive are holding their Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 21st September 2018.

There will be plenty of tea, coffee and cakes available, so please pop along and help us to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Crafty Friends of Douglas Drive will be holding a craft stall and there will also be a raffle on the day, the proceeds of these will be for Douglas Drive.
