Meet our Marvellous Monday volunteers who support our activities co-ordinator to deliver the daily activities and services we are known for – Where would we be without them.

Ok, so this isn’t a picture of our actual committee however, our volunteer committee are a group of people with a passion for the centre and the work we do and want to see the centre continue to thrive into the future.

Do you have a background in business or fundraising? Maybe you have a skill in form filling, applying for grants, social media or producing newsletters? Or maybe you have practical skills or knowledge which you feel could benefit the centre.

Over the next week we are going to showcase our amazing volunteers,
showing in 7 days, 7 different ways in which our volunteers help the smooth running of Douglas Drive.

So we are going to kick the week off with…..

Day 1: Neighbourhood Friends

‘Neighbours, everybody needs good neighbours’ and that’s what we have at Douglas Drive. It’s the little things that count. Whether it’s tending to our small flower bed, making sure our bins are out on the right days or putting paper towel dispensers up in the centre, we are very grateful for their continued help and support.

Saturday sees the start of Volunteers’ Week.

Back in February both staff and volunteers welcomed Paul MacArthur from
Health and Safety Limited to Douglas Drive. Paul delivered a half day course on safeguarding, focusing on the protection of vulnerable adults.

A challenging subject however an important one, ensuring we have the most up to date information to enable us to deliver our service.
